ART TOWNHOUSE
A three store townhouse designed as an outpost for artist, Aliya Abs. The first floor acts as a gallery, entertaining space for the artist allowing her to open the space to the public or keep it closed as a place to organize her own work. A large table at the center can be used as another work space, a bar during parties, or an administrative table during the day.
The second floor combines the kitchen and studio work space with massive wrap around desk and countertops made from a durable brushed aluminum. The space is kept bare with concrete floors and lots of light, staying available to the patine of a painter’s practice. The third floor includes the bedroom, a small bathroom, and a long hallway and entryway. The top floor incorporates more personal style, an intriguing brown tile floor, antique green Chinoiserie screen at the end of the hallway, and a custom platform bed that’s built into the side table that wraps around the bedroom alcove.
